First ever Sammamish Kids Mud Run a Huge Success!
On August 20, 2016, Sammamish Friends hosted an event to remember in the Lower Commons Park (below city hall). All participants had a blast on one of the warmest days of the summer. There were dozens of obstacles (easy and hard versions), a huge mud pit, firefighters hosing off the kids at the end, and snacks and giveaways!
Kid mud runners, volunteers, and parents were all smiling and gave glowing feedback. Many said this was just the kind of event Sammamish should be having in its parks! Sammamish Friends would love your feedback. Please email us at kidsmudrun@sammamishfriends.org.
There are great stories about how this event came together. It would not have been possible without a magic mix of community organizations, businesses, the City of Sammamish, Eastside Fire & Rescue, and – most importantly – volunteers who graciously worked in the hot sun to give kids the most exciting and safe experience possible.
THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!!!!!!!
