Do you like to volunteer? Would you like to lead a Sammamish Walk?
Typically a walk leader will meet a group of people who have who have signed up through the City of Sammamish (the city tracks headcount and provides a liability disclosure agreement). The group follows a trail through one of the parks in and around Sammamish. Some walks are co-led, with each guide contributing various knowledge points along the way — typically about plants, animals, bugs, birds and/or history.
Walks last one to two hours and are usually conducted at a leisurely pace, suitable for various ages and abilities. The walk leader often needs additional help to check people in, to keep the group together and moving, and to provide friendly assistance along the way. Our goal is to make this a nature-based community experience and to include all interested people. We are all volunteers and we welcome you to contribute and participate.
