- The Kids Mud Run is August 18, 8-10 am, August 18, the morning of Sammamish Days.
- Runners must be ages 4 to 10.

- This event is planned and run entirely by volunteers. We always need more help, so to volunteer contact us at kidsmudrun@sammamishfriends.org, or take a look at our available volunteer opportunities and sign up for a spot.
- Parents: Download and sign the Kids Mud Run Participant Liability Waiver Form for your children. All children must have a signed waiver to be able to participate, so be sure to bring the waiver with you the day of the run.

Kids Mud Run FAQ
Q. How long is the course/How long does it take to run it?
A. The course is almost a mile long, and most children will finish the course in about 20 minutes.
Q. Can a runner bypass an obstacle?
A. Yes. We want runners to have fun and go through only the obstacles they want to.
Q. Can parents be on the course?
A. Only participants are allowed on the course. Spectators can follow runners on designated pathways.
Q. Will there be anyone to assist the runners?
A. Yes, volunteers will be stationed at each obstacle and throughout the course to assist runners as needed.
Q. What is the age run for the Kids Mud Run?
A. The Kids Mud Run is for ages 4 to 10.
Q. Will older kids run the course with younger ones?
A. We make an effort to group runners by size.
Q. Are participants timed?
A. The event is not timed. To encourage fun, the challenge is to finish messy and muddy.
Q. What should I bring?
A. Make certain your children wear proper running shoes (no sandals), a change of clothes, and a beach towel. Swimming goggles may be desired because of the mud.
Q. Do I need a release form?
A. Yes. In order to run, children must have a waiver signed by a parent. Parents can download the form here: Kids Mud Run Participant Liability Waiver Form. Be sure to bring the form with you the day of the run or bring it to the Runner Packet Pick Up meeting (see below).
Q. Can I get a runner packet before the run?
A. Yes. There will be a Packet Pick Up where you can pick up your child’s T-shirt and bracelet, and turn in the signed Kids Mud Run Participant Liability Waiver Form, which your child must have to be able to run.
Q. Where is parking?
A. You can park at Sammamish City Hall, the Sammamish Library, the Sammamish Community YMCA, Skyline High School, and the Mary Queen of Peace church. The Lower Commons parking lot is available only for handicap parking.
Q. Where do we check in?
A. Check-in is at the big pavilion at the bottom of the pathway that leads from behind Sammamish City Hall and the Sammamish Community YMCA to the Lower Commons. Just follow the signs.
Q. Do we have to be there at a specific time?
A. The ticket you purchased will be for a check-in time of either 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM. A group of about 10 runners will be released to run about every three minutes.
Q. Where is the finish line?
A. The finish line is located by the Community Garden – a good spot for a photo!
Q. Is there anything to do while we wait for the runners to finish the race?
A. In addition to the spectator pathways, the spray park and playground will be open, and there will be games and a photo opportunity area at the finish line by the Community Garden.
Q. How muddy is the Kids Mud Run?
A. Muddy! In addition to some obstacles getting kids wet, the final obstacle is a giant mud pit that runners must crawl through. Kids love this!
Q. Are there refreshments?
A. Yes. There will be water and snacks for the runners.
